Unable to pair my new Apple Watch

I bought my very first Apple Watch and I’m trying to pair it with my phone. I get to the part where it asks for the password to an email account I haven’t used in years and I do not know the password and no longer have the phone number associated to recover the password. The pairing will not let me skip this part. What can I do to finish pairing my watch

OK...I'm not sure why it's asking for any email address, to be honest. This is why I asked if the watch is brand new and never been set up previously. It should be set up to the same Apple ID you are running on your iPhone currently.
