Hello , I have the 2009 27 inch Mac. 365 microsoft is not compatible. Is it possible to upgrade the software versus buying a new computer?
Most of it can be replaced on older Macs...
Look into the Free LibreOffice, it handles MS Office files like Word & Excel, & Page Layout…
And thanks to VikingOSX…
Let's not overlook SoftMaker's Office 2021 suite which has familiar Word and Excel UI design, and opens these documents in their native formats.

The only way you're going to get a current version of office to run on that machine is to install Windows on it.
