Hello, so I bought this new iphone and it’s asking me to put my old iPhone’s password but I actually forgot it and the message says that if I can’t approve my iphone from another device I will have to reset my encrypted data
So first, how can I approve my new iphone from my mac? ( if it’s possible )
Second, will I lose my whatsapp backup or messages if I reset the encrypted data because whatsapp messages are encrypted data too..

We'd like to share some details about encrypted data and what to expect. Looking over About encrypted backups on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. If you do not remember these credentials, you will be unable to restore that data, and this would include WhatsApp if they include this data in the backup. You can look at How to contact an app developer and contact the WhatsApp team and see what options you have. Any information you have synced with iCloud will be able to be continued available, as long as you sign in with the correct Apple ID. We hope this clarification helps.
