Haunted ipad

My iPad has been ‘randomly’ typing phantom letters when I try to type, even when backspacing. Also it gets confused between scrolling and tapping, playing YouTube videos when I’m trying to scroll past them. Recently I discovered it only does this while it is charging. Does anyone know why this happens/how to fix it? My only workaround is to unplug whenever I need to type.
