Hi Apple Team:
I just ordered a new MacBook Air with 3yr Apple Care on Dec 9.
This morning I received a message that it is shipped, and will arrive on Dec 22.
This evening, I receive an email that says that my Apple Care coverage will end on December 16, 2024.
Why is the coverage running while it is not in my possession?

Like any extended warranty program, the date the program was purchased is the start date. The fact that it stared on Dec. 16 instead of Dec. 9 is likely because the information from the new Mac was not available yet as it did not yet exists as it was not in stock and on the shelf. If it were available to ship the same day as ordered, the coverage would have began the day you bought it.

Not sure but the last time I got this it started on the date I purchased the Mac so you got a break.

Starting the coverage before the device is with the buyer does not sound right to me.
