Apple Music launches by itself
Brand new M1 MacBook Pro running Monterey (12.0.1 build 21A559).
Apple Music ("AM") began launching 'by itself' at inopportune times, such as in the middle of a business Zoom call while screen sharing. Not optimal.
No amount of research, changing settings, and a complete ground up reinstall of the OS with manual installation of apps and data, could solve the issue. AM would appear to launch randomly. Shut it down and it would relaunch just a minute or two later.
Finally discovered a repeatable way to trigger the AM launch. Turns out when the USB-C dongle (BT600C) for the Plantronics headset is inserted into any usb-c port, it connects both the phone and the MacBook Pro to the PLT Focus headset, allowing usage of both devices with the single headset.
When I switch back and forth between the usage of the headset with phone and computer audio, it triggers an event which launches Apple Music. I can repeat the launch on demand by changing the audio output on the phone. When the PLT focus headset is selected (via the usb-c dongle), Apple Music launches on the MacBook Pro, every time.
This is not what should be considered normal behavior. Merely connecting a device should not automatically launch an application, unless that event is desired. It isn't in the is case. Even so, if that 'feature' was available, it should be able to be suppressed.
