Stopping a service with the launchctr unload on Big Sur

Hello All,

I am trying to stop a service on my Mac. When I was on catalina I was able to run the command launchctl unload /Library/LaunchDaemons/XXXXXX.plist and it would stop the service then launchctl load /Library/LaunchDaemons/XXXXX.plist would start it back up. When I upgraded to Big Sur I have been unable to do this command. Does anyone know what command replaced it so we can stop services through terminal?

Load and unload are "Legacy" commands.

See the launchctl man page for use of newer commands:

load | unload [-wF] [-S sessiontype] [-D searchpath] paths ...
         Recommended alternative subcommands: bootstrap | bootout | enable | disable

enable/disable is likely what you want.

To view the man page, in Terminal use:

man launchctl
