delete photos from apple watch

My watch needs an update, but can't because there isn't enough memory. So I was going to delete the photos from my watch, but I can't get to them via the phone because it wants to downloand the update to my watch - which keeps failing due to the memory issue. So how do I delete the photos?

Removing photos from apple watch I received a notification that my watch storage is full. It said to go to apple watch app on my phone to remove photos. When I go to the app I can only access updating and since I have no storage I cannot update. This is VERY frustrating. Delete Photos on Apple Watch I have an Apple Watch Series 3 and I am trying to update the watchOS to 7.0. I only have 3gb of free space and I need 3.1gb. I am trying to delete photos and have already changed the photo album setting to an empty folder on my iPhone. When I go to General > About it is still showing 15 Photos. When I go to the Photo App on my watch it says No Photos. Where are these photos and how do I delete them?

Unpair and re-pair the watch and setup as new,this will erase everything and give you a better chance of updating.
