Software Update doesn't show 12.1 update

My Macbook Pro 14, Apple Silicon, has 12.0.1 installed, and Software Update should show that the 12.1 update is available. It actually did show it twice, but after a few seconds that option disappeared and left only the line "Your Mac is up to date -- macOS Monterey 12.0.1."

I've restarted in safe mode, and it still shows that line and doesn't show the 12.1 update. Next I suppose is to reinstall the whole system.

Has anyone heard of this problem? Advice?

There have been reports certain M1-based Macs are not seeing the 12.1 update. I suppose you could try downloading Monterey 12.1 from the App Store. Open the App Store and search for macos monterey.
