iPhone back up not happening

1)My iPhone is not backed up automatically in spite of being connected to power, locked and connected to WiFi (150 mbps) and in spite of 40 gb of spare icloud space ( Total 50 gb)

2) After attempting manual backup, I get the message “back up could not happen because of poor WiFi connection “.

Please help.
