Does the parent receive a notification that a potentially photo is being received/sent??
Do the parents know when their child is sending or receiving nude photos or is it kept from them, leaving the child to make the decision??
Apple Intelligence is now available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac!

Was looking for the same thing, but apparently parents are not notified - which makes no sense; a minor child’s parent should be made aware if their child receives nude photos from someone, or sends one. I’m sure every parent who sets this up would want to receive such a notification - the way it operates now, it’s like a secret between the child and Apple

In the Related Article it only says, "As an additional precaution, the child has the option to message an adult that they trust about the photo. If the child is under 13, Messages prompts the child to start a conversation with their parent or guardians."
As muguy notes, it doesn't say parents automatically receive notification.
Not according to the Related Article, no.

i disagree.
First, I’m appreciative of this new functionality.
Second, I don’t have the conspiracy theory that Apple wants to create secrets with children.
Third, the feature is an intro. I imagine that, if it becomes well received, they’ll add functionality.
i *definitely* would like to see an enhancement for parents of children
< 13yrs to be able to turn ON an automated notification or warning of nude photo exchanges. It would be helpful if this warning/notification included date/time/incoming or outgoing photo, and a semi masked view of the sender or recipient(s) contact info. [ex: Se——s@gmail.com].
Unfortunately, many predators, children, and teenagers don’t use standard texting or imessaging to communicate. They are on other apps and chat hosts.
i wish all electronic communication platforms offered this type of service to guardians.
