Transfer of AppleCare Agreement

I currently have Applecare+ that I pay for monthly. The AppleCare is listed under my subscriptions in my phone settings. I gifted that device to a family member a couple of months back.

I do not want to continue to pay for this AppleCare. Am I able to transfer the agreement under his Apple ID so he can continue to pay for the coverage?

If you make monthly payments* for your AppleCare plan, the plan is linked to your Apple ID and can't be transferred to a new owner. You can simply stop that subscription. Either this or you can continue paying and your family member can pay you.

Hi,

I’d be happy to clarify how AppleCare+ monthly works, as well as provide the best resolution regarding your issue.

First, you absolutely cannot transfer monthly AppleCare+ to another Apple ID once it has been linked to an Apple ID.

Once the agreement has been linked to an Apple ID, even if it is the incorrect Apple ID, it cannot be unlinked.

I would recommend cancelling the agreement within your Subscription Settings if you no longer have the product, or wish to keep the coverage active for it.

If you would like a prorated refund tied to your cancellation, you can contact Apple Support to submit the request for you.

Hope this helps!!!! Best of luck!
