My portrait mode isn’t working

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities! From our understanding, when using portrait mode it is not focusing and the words "Natural Light" do not turned yellow to signify that the subject is in focus, is that right? Do you see the words " Move farther away." at the top of the photo preview screen? When this happens, the device needs to be move further away from the subject of the photo in order to focus and take a portrait mode photo.

If this isn't working as expected, you can try closing out the app completely and restarting your iPhone. You can also confirm that there are no updates available to be installed.
