Apple Order Shipment picked up SHANGHAI - CHINA MAINLAND - Arriving Soon

This is more of an info incase someone has the same issue.

I ordered a custom configured MacBookPro on 2nd Dec 2021 with expected delivery of 16 Dec - 23 Dec.

• On about the 7th-9th order status changed from "Order Placed" to "Processing"
• On about the 9th/10th Dec my card was charged (was successful after a few attempts - I was informed they would have kept trying for about a week /just until before it is delivered - at which point the order will be withheld)
• On the 14th Dec, I received text from DHL with a tracking link. (The tracking details was something like "pickup scheduled" and then later in the day changed to "Shipment picked up SHANGHAI - CHINA MAINLAND"
• In the meantime, the order status on Apple website changed from "Processing" to "Preparing to Ship" to "Shipped" within the space of a day or two. The arrival date changed from "16 Dec - 23 Dec" to "Arrives 21 Dec"
• I kept checking (as you can imagine) and the DHL tracking was still stuck at "Shipment picked up SHANGHAI - CHINA MAINLAND" after a couple of days.
• On the 16th December the Apple delivery status was still "Shipped" but the Arrival date changed from "Arrives 21 Dec" to "Arriving Soon" - I began to panic - as you do
• I contacted Apple support and was informed that the reason for the DHL tracking being stuck at "Shipment picked up SHANGHAI - CHINA MAINLAND" is because there's a chinese government policy that prevents users from seeing fine grain details of the movement of goods within china - hence why no further updates on the DHL tracking website. He also informed me that in fact, my package had just cleared customs and was on its way to Europe (I am in the UK) and that I will receive an update on the DHL tracking once the package has arrived in Europe. And that my package is still scheduled to arrive on or before the 21st as it was sent by Air.
