Epson perfection v550 looks nice.. rkaufmann87 is right. You can use image capture for your scanning needs… and any scanner can be made to work in Monterey ( mac os 12) with Vuescan ( hamrick software) but right out of the box monterey support? I’m kinda leanin’ towards the Epson… canon makes scanners.. but apart from using VueScan or image capture they don’t work in Monterey… perhaps plustek… dunno what your budget for a flat scanner is, though

Not true. On a scanner, by scanner basis, you have to verify that VueScan does not require the vendor's driver installed before VueScan Professional can work with the device. The previously referenced Epson Perfection v550 requires an operating system compatible, installed, and functional vendor driver before VueScan can use the scanner. So does the V600.
