I have my phone plugged in and it's not charging. There was a message saying something about the usb, but I don't recall it and it won't come back, but the charge is almost gone. I've turned it off for now.

“USB device not recognized”, maybe?

Check for debris or fuzz or lint in the iPhone charging port, and remove any found.

Swap the charging cable for another cable, preferably one known to be working.

Same for swapping the charger for another, and preferably one known to work.

Failing all that, use the Get Support link in the upper right of this webpage, and check with Apple.
