Creating and assigning reminders to family members.

Is it possible to create a reminder on my iPhone that can then be sent/assigned to my son?

reminders app My wife and I both have iphones. We have separate user IDs and separate icloud accounts. We do not use icloud family sharing. In the iphone setting for icloud, we both have reminders turned off. When I put up a new reminder, it appears on her phone as well as mine. Worse when the reminder goes off, it rings on her phone and not on mine! What is going on?

Family sharing If I put something in my reminder will it show up for the whole family or just in mine?
