Gift cards themselves do not have any balance outside their full value or $0 once they have been redeemed.
In other words, the entire iTunes Gift card value is transferred to the Apple ID that redeemed it and nothing is left on the card at all.
As mentioned you can verify the balance on your account, but not of a specific card, as they all get added together on your account.
