My Mothers Contact is “My Card” on imessage

Howdy! I’ve been looking for a way to fix having my mothers contact be my Contact Card for imessage. I’m unable to change it because when I do, it changes my mothers information on my device. For example if i change my Contact Card to have my phone number, my mothers contact number changes, same with email address, photo, etc.

It doesn’t make sense how i can text my mother with MY phone number, but her info is my Contact Card information.

I’ve tried to fix it myself by having imessage use my appleID and making sure i’m not signed into my mothers account. However, these issues are still persist.

Please help! :(

Hi,

Sorry to hear you are having issues with your Contact Card.

To confirm you have the correct contact information listed for yourself, and not your moms information, go to Contacts > My Card at the very top. You can click edit add the correct information accordingly.

Afterwards, go to Settings > Contacts > My Info.

This will give you the ability to select the correct Contact Card for yourself.

Manage and delete contacts on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

This should resolve your issue.
