Inverted Screen

Does anyone have any issues where the phone starts-up with smart invert defaultued on (I don't use this feature)? I have an iPhone 13 with iOS 15.2, although this issues also persisted on my iPhone 12 and transferred with my settings. The strange thing is after you disable smart invert, any screenshots you take then send via text/email will display inverted to the recipient. If you take a screenshot of an inverted photo, then that photo will display correctly, however the background will then be inverted. I also notice the phone wakes up from sleep mode it will momentarily have a nasty inverted yellow color for a split second, then it snaps back to the correct dark mode. Issue persists even after restoring phone to factory settings and reinstalling iCloud backup.

Hi MMercado36,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that your Home Screen and screenshots appear in inverted colors although you have this feature disabled.

You've tried some great troubleshooting so far. Next, make sure that there are no apps enabled from Settings > Accessibility > Per-App Settings. Individual apps, Settings and your Home Screen might have Smart Invert enabled here. Check out Customize accessibility settings for specific apps on iPhone.

Take care.
