Is there a way to set a static background while text scrolling outside of Screen View

I was wondering if there is a way to mimic what Screen View on the iOS version of Pages does with its static background while the text scrolls over it but keeps image placements I've made instead of it being moved . I'd like to keep the background image still and keep how I place images and objects in the normal mode. Is there a way to do this?

Pages understand three layers:

  1. foreground
  2. background
  3. section master (beneath items 1 and 2). Available on every page of a section, or the entire document

Your normal body text and objects occupy the first two layers. If you want your document body text and inserted objects to appear over a static image on Pages for macOS, then layer 3 is used.

Here is an example of a PNG image assigned to the section master/section layout (e.g watermark) layer. Is this what you hope to achieve with Pages for Mac?

"I'm going to assume this is not a feature since Screen View is new and only serves as a view option at the moment and to replicate it I might have to export it to a certain format though I am uncertain if that's a possibility either. "

That seems a safe assumption. I've not seen this on iPhone or iPad, but on the Mac, I would think that what you describe would require all three layers noted in Viking OS X's post above to contain text and objects in the transparent foreground layer,

to possible contain background objects on and otherwise transparent background layer, and to have a transparent section master layer the width of the pages and the length of that section,

Allowing the background image on the display to appear through all three layers.

iOS devices have the advantage here in that Pages' "pages" generally fill the screen.

Currently not a feature available in the mac OS version(s) of Pages. Might eventually arrive, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it.

Unfortunately no, this is information I already know and doesn't address what I'm trying to replicate from the iOS version using Screen View on the Mac. I'm going to assume this is not a feature since Screen View is new and only serves as a view option at the moment and to replicate it I might have to export it to a certain format though I am uncertain if that's a possibility either. What I'm wanting is a single static background design that stays in place as all of the document's text rolls over it not repeating on multiple pages.
