My Face ID isn't working bc TrueDepth

My Face ID has been disabled. The Alert says the TrueDepth Camera isn't working. I have an XR and it always worked. Now I have to put in a passcode to protect it and it's annoying me to no end. I've backed it up, tried to go back to factory settings, and did the reboot method several times. NOTHING seems to work. HELP PLEASE.

Thanks so much for taking the time to forward this to me.

Unfortunately, I went to Apple and it will cost $399 bc it's attached to the phone itself and I'd have to get a new one.

My Apple Care expired so I'll just deal with putting in my passcode.

The phone works fine otherwise.
