We have a late 2015 iMac “Core” I’m trying to wipe and recycle. I can’t get past the password prompt at login, possibly because the wireless Bluetooth keyboard isn’t synced. How do I get around this? TIA.
I do have an old USB trackball that works, but not a non-wireless keyboard.

Everybody needs at least one wired KB. It doesn't have to be Apple and you don't need to spend a lot of money; some less than $10US from Amazon.
Easiest solution I should've thought of sooner: connect Bluetooth keyboard via Lightning-to-USB cord.
Use the wired KB. I always do because I've found wireless KBs to be a tad unpredictable as to connecting during this type evolution.
As above, I don't have a wired KB, unfortunately.
