Can I get Microsoft Office for Free with a new imac purchase

Microsoft is an entirely different company. Their products are not included for free with Apple.

No. You will need to buy or subscribe to Microsoft Office yourself.

Microsoft Office has never been free.

I have some vague recollection of, long before Apple had any Office-like apps themselves, there once being a promotion for Word. About 30 years ago. But, I could be misremembering. ;-)
