Vimeo video upload causes Memory/Ram Crashes on 16inch M1max Macbook pro

Hi, Recently bought the new macbook pro - I have read about the memory leak problem, I am also having a similar issue. When I upload video files to Vimeo once my browser uploads 2 of them the system fully black screens and crashes, this seems to happen in all browsers (Safari, Chrome, Firefox). Most recently I have monitored the 'Activity Monitor' during the upload and have noticed it slowly overloads the Ram/memory going from using 4gb to the full 32gb in a matter of 5 minutes - once it hits 32gb the system will then fully crash and restart.

Additionally, I have noticed the system with 1 Mozilla tab open idle uses 10gb of memory! Weird as when you add up the total memory listed in the activity monitor it only adds up to 3 or 4 gb but alas the 'memory used' sector lists 10gb + (Ive attached a photo to be more clear)

I am a long term windows user who has switched to mac for the illusive M1 craze and it seems like it is just that - a craze. I hope I can get some closure with this post, any help would be great! I hope that the €4000 wasn't spent for nothing...

Hey Martinusesmac,

Congratulations on your new MacBook Pro!

However, it appears that you're having a problem with your Mac. You've noticed that apps are using a lot of memory which causes your Mac to crash unexpectedly. We know how important it is that it works as expected, and we're glad to provide assistance.

If your Mac restarted because of a problem - Apple Support -- If you're receiving a message that your Mac restarted because of a problem, follow the steps in this article. If not, continue below.

How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support -- Restart your Mac in safe mode and test the issue for a bit. Whether or not it happens, restart your Mac normally to exit safe mode. Please be aware: "When you start up in safe mode, your Mac prevents some software, such as startup items, from loading, and it performs a check of your startup disk. Your Mac may take longer to start up because of the check."

New user or group setup - Apple Support -- Next, create a new Administrator account. Then log out of your own account and log into the new one. You may need to bring over some of the work you are doing to this new account in order to test.

Please reply to this post with the results of these isolation tests.

All the best.
