Just bought a refurbished 6th gen iPad. We tried setting it up yesterday but it would not accept the thumb print or passcode we just assigned to it. When we logged into itunes to "restore" it, it said we needed to download the latest version of itunes...which we can't do b/c we can't get in!

No, purchased from Back Market. I am currently updating iTunes on my pc to see if I can move to the next step
thanks - I realized this right after I posted. Currently in the middle of trying to download latest iTunes since the last try showed an error
