HelperViewer runs all day

Hi,

After upgrade to Monterey 12.1, the HelperView appears and runs all the time.

What's that application and how to get rid of it?

helper process running in task bar Hello world! Starting about two weeks ago a spinning gear icon started to appear on my taskbar on the right hand side next to the speaker icon and Bluetooth icons. If I use the mouse and click on the gear and open it, it shows several "helper" processes running. I have tried searching for "helper" using Activity Monitor but there are so many processes that have helper in the name I cannot seem to determine which processes are attached to the ones on the taskbar. Is there a way to determine which Applications or system commands these taskbar helper processes are tied to? Much gratitude in advance!

how to disable or remove update helpers? How are update helpers activated and loaded these days? I've got an especially annoying one (Corel Update Helper) that keeps stealing the focus. Often it gets stuck in a screen resolution switching loop that can only be resolved with a hard reboot, sometimes resulting in hours of lost work. I know where CUH.app is and could delete it, but don't know where to remove whatever triggers it to run. I've tried asking Corel. When I send them directory listings and paths, they seem confused that it's different from Windows. Is there something like a secret crontab for the update helpers? (I wouldn't mind killing Adobe's one while I'm at it.)

Hi Cirillivant,

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities! From our understanding, you are seeing a large amount of screen time being used by the "help viewer" on your Mac and would like some information, do we have that right? This is the help window which provides the macOS user guide. Closing out the guide should resolve this.
