Used iPhone being recognised as brand new by all services

My 2 year old iphone is being recognized as a brand new phone accross websites, gmail, etc, consistently. For example everytime I sign into an account via gmail I have to do 2-step verification which says it’s a new iPhone, and says it’s in a different location than where I am. Every time I return to a website I have to consent to the terms of use again, etc. So in every place my phone is being picked up as a new device to that service. How can I fix this?

iPhone 11, iOS 14

Hello, Namtaan.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

We'd be glad to help out. Which web browser are you using on your iPhone? For example, if you're using Safari, check and see if you're using Private Browsing: Turn Private Browsing on or off on your iPhone or iPod touch As the article states,

"When you use Private Browsing, the details of your browsing aren't saved, and the websites you visit aren't shared with your other devices. Safari won't remember the pages you visit, your search history, or your AutoFill information."

Also, check for any Cookie settings that are blocked: Clear the history and cookies from Safari on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

"Block cookies

A cookie is a piece of data that a site puts on your device, so that site can remember you when you visit again. To choose whether Safari blocks cookies, tap Settings > Safari, then turn on Block All Cookies.

If you block cookies, some web pages might not work. Here are some examples:

  • You will likely not be able to sign in to a site even when using your correct username and password.
  • You might see a message that cookies are required or that your browser's cookies are off.
  • Some features on a site might not work.

Use content blockers

Content blockers are third-party apps and extensions that let Safari block cookies, images, resources, pop-ups, and other content.

To get a content blocker:

  1. Download a content blocking app from the App Store.
  2. Tap Settings > Safari > Extensions.
  3. Tap to turn on a listed content blocker.

You can use more than one content blocker. If you need help, contact the app developer."

Cheers!
