Battery drain on watch series 7

I just got the apple watch series 7 a couple of weeks ago and have been experiencing short battery life. Even with most functions/ background app refresh etc turned off, the watch can only last 10 hours after a full charge. It can barely get through a work day. Battery % drops close to 10% per hour.

Have tried resetting, unpairing etc, hasn't worked to resolve this issue.

This happened on watchOS 8.1.1 and 8.3.

Does any one else have this problem?

I replaced my series 3 for a series 7, and was also shocked at the lackluster battery life. However, I fixed it by removing several fitness apps as I suspected they were doing too much in the background. I kept all of my health apps, and from a fitness perspective, retained cyclemeter, keelo, and alltrails. I removed myfitnesspal, freeletics, and strong so one of those 3 was the culprit. Today I have 64% battery life remaining after 15+ hours.

Apple needs a battery app for the watch so that you can see who the offenders are. That helped me years back when I was having iPhone battery challenges. It's not the watch, it's the apps (and we need better diagnostic capabilities).

Same issue! I have turned off everything and my battery barely lasts 4 hours. Unbelievable! So disappointed in this product. When will this be fixed??!

I’ve literally tuned off everything and it still goes dead in less than 4 hours. It’s insane! It isn’t even dependable as a watch because it drains so quickly.

I’m having the exact same problem. It never lasts the whole day and I have already switched off all background apps and done everything recommended. Still , nothing helped

me too…watch 7 is 1.5 years old, software update 9.2 recently. Battery now depleted in 10 hrs last 3 days.

Could it be something to do with the health monitoring features? Heart rate, blood oxygen measurement, etc? My watch is also draining quickly and I came here for answers and as I was trolling the responses, it hit me that maybe it is the cause of the battery draining- with my watch at least… I’m guessing most of you have turned yours off already- I’m just late to the party :)
