Battery drain on watch series 7

I just got the apple watch series 7 a couple of weeks ago and have been experiencing short battery life. Even with most functions/ background app refresh etc turned off, the watch can only last 10 hours after a full charge. It can barely get through a work day. Battery % drops close to 10% per hour.

Have tried resetting, unpairing etc, hasn't worked to resolve this issue.

This happened on watchOS 8.1.1 and 8.3.

Does any one else have this problem?

I agree. It drove me nuts too!

I ended up making an appointment with the Genius Bar because all other methods had failed me.

Was told that the watch battery was likely discharging abnormally.

Exchanged it for a new one - battery life seems ok on this one. But I will try it out for a few days first before making any conclusions.

I have the same issues, only there are good days and bad days. This morning I put my watch on with a full battery at 7:57 am, took my dog out, came back in a 8:12 am and the battery had lost 5% in 15 minutes. I put back on the charger and watched as the battery drained some more while ON the charger. The series 7 definitely has a design flaw and it’s time for all of us to start making noise about it. We pay hundreds of dollars for these products and for older versions to work better than the newer version is highway robbery. Apple just became a $3 trillion company and they should be selling products that reflect that achievement and not be a cheap product company like Walmart. The response they gave is couple garbage, the series 5 I had was also cellular and the charge lasted well over a day after having it for about 2 years.

Apple Watch 8.7 has a bug. The on;y fix that works is Apple Watch OS 9.02; however, you need to upgrade your iPhone to ios 16.
