Received a text from 81961
I received an Apple ID code this morning but did not use my phone for anything to ask to receive a code.

AppleID 2 factor authentications sent to a trusted device (a device currently signed into your iCloud account) will not come by text message. They will come as popup encrypted iCloud notifications (see picture in this support document -> Two-factor authentication for Apple ID - Apple Support).
Sending as a text or voice message are only used when you cannot get a code on a trusted device and request one be sent to your backup contact telephone number.
So, ignore scams coming from unsolicited text messages.
