On boot-up iMac does not respond to key strokes. I am trying Command R for recovery mode, and the Option key for startup manager, but neither of these work on boo- up. The iMac keeps opening into Big Sur and I cant get to the startup Manager. The boot-up continues without the startup manager appearing. Also, when I choose another startup disk in systems preferences the computer re-starts but ignores the disk I selected and boots into Big Sur which was the last OS booted into. I have tried resetting the PRAM and NVRAM as per instructions found online , but it doesn't seem to do anything. My keyboard is wired and connected thru a USB hub. I have tried different keyboards and also tried connecting the keyboard directly to the iMac eliminating the USB hub. I still cannot get to the startup manager. Additionally, I updated to the latest OS Big Sur 11.6.2, still didn't work. I then reinstalled the the OS and that didn't help either.

I appreciate you responding to my question. However, giving me a link to a site that explains how I change my boot disk was useless. If you fully read my post you should have realized that I have already undertaken the steps that were listed on that page but to no avail. Either you are not aware what is posted on the page you sent me to or you did not read my post in its entirety. Both scenarios are disappointing. I was hoping to get some insightful information, but I regret that was not the case. If you have any other suggestions I will eagerly await your input.

Thank you

Lou
