Office365 install questions

I have subscribed to Office365. I currently have Office 11 on my MacBook Pro. I also have 2 iPads and iPhones. All of them have Word and Excel on them. Will those work correctly as 365? Or do I have to uninstall and then reinstall? I have not used the Office “system” for a number of years so not sure next steps.

. What will it affect if I have to uninstall Office 11. Will there be problems with my older documents?

. How do I get 365 on my system as I’ve been told you have to download each program—or is it built

into each program.

. I also have a number of documents stored thru Microsoft that I am still able to access from all

of them. Will the old Word/Excel function right for 365? If I have to uninstall those programs, will my

old documents still work?

. Can I just add PowerPoint to these devices??

Sorry for all the questions. Was much easier in the past when I just downloaded it from a disc and all was there. Then I saw that I have to go in the register the devices. I appreciate any help.

The Office apps on iPad and iPhone are by definition Office 365 versions. While the iPhone itself does not require a specific license, you do get more features with the 365 license. The iPad depending on screen size will require the activation of the 365 license by logging in to your MS account for all the features including editing and saving.

Nothing. uninstalling Office 11 will not affect your documents or other devices.

Yes, you will need to download each app from the Mac App Store and sign in with your Microsoft Account to activate the 365 subscription.

The documents will open through the new apps fine. The Old apps will continue to open your old documents, but will have no connection to Office 365, so may not be able to open documents created with 365 now. You should uninstall the old Applications from Office 11 to avoid problems and confusion.

. Can I just add PowerPoint to these devices??

Yes. You can download PowerPoint from the App Store and sign in with your Microsoft account that holds the 365 subscription.

These are good question to ask Microsoft or looking at their support site on how well their platform works or will transfer over.
