Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
On my 2011 iMac with High Sierra, Preview opens the file (Images, PDFs, Music, etc) when the space bar is pressed, even when Preview is not the default application. On my M1 Mac Mini with Monterey, Preview only opens a thumbnail when the space bar is pressed, even when it is the default app. Can someone help me get to preview opening the file by pressing the space bar?

select and double click an icon to open up the file/image

That's the problem I'm having. Previous reply acted like I didn't know you had to double-click to actually open a file, but spacebar used to "expand" document, photos, etc and play music files without "opening" the file by double-clicking. I still don't know how to get it back like it used to work.
But the problem is, that QuickLook with pressing spacebar doesnt work. How to fix it, without double-clicking on file to open it?
