Showing previously viewed pages when starting safari

How can I get rid of the row of previously viewed pages that appear at the bottom of the screen when starting safari and pages. This only started when I upgraded to ios15 on my ipad. I know it’s probably a setting but I just can’t find the setting to switch off.
