There are lots of slight variations in human anatomy. Some people seem to have a nerve in their wrist in just enough of a different place that the watch causes pain. Or they're more sensitive. But, really only a doctor could advise.
Try moving the watch about a half-inch up toward your elbow. And, try wearing nothing on that wrist for a week to see if the problem subsides.
You should check with a doctor or dermatologist to ensure you are not allergic to the metals or sensitive to the sensors.
While you're waiting to hear from your doctor, loosen the band.
Thank you I removed my jewelry so I will move it up a little also to see if this works. Since I remove my jewelry so far I haven’t had any issues! Which means I could be getting somewhere. Appreciate your advice.
Do you have a technical question?

Ask your doctor.
The question is why is my watch causing discomfort/pain? I wear it placed as I should and every since I’ve upgraded my watch I’ve been having sharp pain where the watch, not band is placed. I’m just trying to see what if anything I can do differently before giving up my watch.
That’s the thing, I don’t wear my band tight. I wonder if the jewelry I wear on that wrist has something to do with it. I know it sounds crazy but I’m just trying to pinpoint what’s going on because Apple has no answers for me.
Me asking about the Apple Watch isn’t a question for my doctor.
Thank you for your POLITE reply. Very much appreciated!

But a question about discomfort or pain is.
Therefore it is a medical problem not a tech support problem.
