Apple Watch 3 Won't reset after clearing settings - Too many password Attempts

Hi,

My Apple Watch series 3 is stuck on the message regarding too many passcode attempts. I have followed the instructions to clear all settings and reset it while it is on the charger.

After completing all steps. It restarts and goes back to the time screen which again shows the the error message about too many attempts when I try to unlock it. I have done this over 10 times now. I also let the battery drain and waited a week before attempting again. It does not completely reset it to where I can pair it again.

The original iPhone that it was paired to is dead and I cannot use it to change the passcode. I am the original owner with proof of purchase a few years back.

Please help.

FYI. I found the following on a reddit forum and it worked.

  1. hold down both the crown dial and side button until the Apple logo appears, then release both buttons.
  2. count to 4, then hold down just the side button until the “erase all
  3. settings” prompt shows up on the screen, then click it, then click the
  4. little green check button.
  5. let the watch do it’s thing.

If this works like it did on mine, then you’ll have a fully reset watch.
