Mail Issues with 12.1

Hi all,

I updated my M1 MacBook Air to 12.1 yesterday and ever since Mail crashes whenever I try to reply to email threads.

Nothing seems to make it want to work. I have restarted my machine and force quit Mail several times to try and make it work.

Edit... In fact Mail does not want to work at all to create any new emails! It just beachballs when trying to open a new message! So very annoying!

Any one have any ideas or is this just a bug that Apple have introduced with 12.1? I use iCloud mail if that makes any difference?

Thanks in advance!

Craig

You might want to try a couple of things to see if the problem persists:

  1. Boot in Safe mode (if problem goes away, it's most likely a 3'rd party software interaction)
  2. Create a new user account for test purposes (if problem goes, it could be some sort of configuration issue)

I am also using Mail (with iCloud and as a gmail client) but am not seeing these issues.

Follow the good advise from previous posting first.

Then >>

Any Third Party Applications that will interfere with the normal operation of the OS, alter, modify, remove or delete or attempt to do so is an invitation for disaster and may require a Reinstallation of the OS.

There are no known Windows-like Viruses in the wild that self replicate and affect macOS, because of the underling UNIX  Foundation and Permission Limitation.

The The Built in Security is all that is required.

This includes AntiVirus, Disk Cleaners, Disk Optimizes, UnInstaller etc.

This will include CMM or any type of similar Application
