Verification Code

Hi, on my device list, it says that my Macbook "cannot be used to receive Apple ID verification codes." Because of this (but I'm not entirely sure), I can't sign in to the iStore or the App Store using the said Macbook because every time I enter my password for my Apple ID, it says that it's wrong and at the same time, my iPhone receives a verification code but no verification code prompt pops out in my Macbook.

How do I make this Macbook receive the verification code prompt so I can simply input them when I get it on my iPhone?

Hello asb0908,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! We see you're having issues with signing in to your Apple ID on your MacBook Pro, and we'd like to help.

First, "iStore" is not an Apple app. You'll want to reach out to the app developer to help with sign in issues. Plus, you should not be using your Apple ID and password to sign in to a non Apple app.

How to contact an app developer

We have some articles to help with signing in with your Apple ID for the Mac App Store:

Sign in to the App Store on Mac

If you can't connect to the App Store, iTunes Store, or other Apple services

Get a verification code and sign in with two-factor authentication has a section for Mac.

Take care!
