Printing with Colorsync & custom icc-profiles: Print totally off balance

I have a new EPSON printer and made some icc-profiles for several papers for it. Everything works fine if I use a program that supports icc-profiles by itself, like Photoshop or Lightroom.

BUT if I use a program that can't handle icc-profiles itself, like Preview or another PDF Program, I have to rely on Colorsync. Even though I turn on Colorsync and select the right paper icc-profile, the prints are totally off: they have a heavy red tint to it. What could that be? Any clues anyone?

I'm using MacOS 12.

iMac 27″, macOS 12.1
