See this article on a short term work around

https://www.macrumors.com/2021/12/22/apple-watch-charging-issues-watchos-8-3/

"...In many cases, the Apple Watch will charge for a few minutes, and then charging will suddenly stop. Restarting the Apple Watch can help jump start charging, but it does not appear to be a permanent solution for most people, with the charging issues recurring. ..."

Thank you for the info

in my case I opened a tech case with apple

my device is 2 weeks old and was working well with a stable power cycle

btw Part of my diagnostic process included allowing the watch to completely discharge from the auto reserve limited power state and to no avail; the watch would charge to 14 percent and while still charging began to discharge. All of this occurred following the firmware watch OS 8.3 upgrade

I used a 3in 1 charging station ( purchased from Amazon) and charging problem solved. Apple tech support was no help check out amazon search on Apple Watch charging device the go to tamoxi store this unit compliant 18w charging unit

there are others similar by the way a single charge at 100 percent now lasts about 20 hours with minimum app notifications enabled for my series 7 ver 8.3 firmware enabled device
