my apple watch SE keeps unpairing during the setup process. i have gone through the setup process and read about restarting both the phone and the watch and making sure my phone is up to date, but the phone keeps unpairing from the watch during the setup process

It needs to be paired with an iPhone. The iPad doesn’t even have a watch App.

You can connect it to an ipad for fitness+ only but you cannot pair it,you need an iphone for that.
