Moving data from my old android to iPhone 13 Pro Max

Hello! I'm really hoping someone can help.

My mom and I just bought two iPhone 13 Pro Max phones. I was a previous iPhone user so my transition to the new phone was seamless. However she was moving from android (her old phone being a Samsung Galaxy S10+) to her iPhone 13. We have had continuous trouble transferring her data. It has been two days of us starting the transfer and getting error messages like, transfer interrupted. Or most recently the transfer got stuck on 1 minute for literal hours. And it never finished.

I researched this "1 minute" issue and found that many times the transfer has already finished and you can cancel the last of the transfer. So I cancelled it and proceeded to set up her iPhone. It seemed great, her texts were there, not all of the photos but the majority. The biggest issue we found was her contacts were duplicated 8 different times, as well as some photos. All these issues are unacceptable in my opinion, I have no idea what could be causing all these issues. I did not have any of these issues when switching from my Samsung to my iPhone 12 then to the 13.

I'm going to wipe her iPhone and try the transfer one last time. But we are at a loss. Should we take the phone back? Should I call apple support? Or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for the help!

Android to iPhone

  1. You may --> Move from Android to iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple ...
  2. If that fails or you do not want to attempt or have already set up your device. then...You can still transfer these data.
    1. Photos & Videos --> Upload to iCloud Photos using the same Apple ID that you have used on your iPhone. After upload, enable iCloud Photos on your iPhone. That's it.
    2. Contacts --> Contacts are not stored on an iPhone nor on SIM, they are synced to  Google, iCloud, AOL, Exchange, Outlook, Yahoo or any Other. Upload all your contacts to any of the above email client-server.
    3. Notes, Reminders, Calendars --> You may sync all these from any of the email accounts that you have. they are synced to  Google, iCloud, AOL, Exchange, Outlook, Yahoo or any Other. Upload all your data to any of the above email client-server.
    4. Any Specific Files --> Upload to Cloud Drives (iCloud Drive, Google Drive, OneDrive, DropBox, Flickr, box, AmazonDrive, Adobe Creative Cloud and Use Files app on iPhone
    5. Apps --> In any way they have to be redownloaded using the App Store.
  3. WhatsApp --> My experience says you can't transfer because on Android, WhatsApp, chat history is not stored on iCloud, on iOS it is.
    1. That may be possible with third-party software. Warning!; WhatsApp data through third-party software has the risk of data being compromised. Because the data will be churned through third-party servers, which may or may not be encrypted. Be judicious while selecting the software and taking this call.
    2. Having said that, WhatsApp is not an Apple product. Contact the app developer here --> App Support or WhatsApp FAQ or Restoring your chat history - WhatsApp FAQ
  4. Shazam Account --> Access your Shazams on all your devices or online - Apple ...
