The app to move data is hopeless, any suggestions of how best to move my data from the Samsung to iPhone pro?

If you already tried (to no avail) ALL the steps provided in these support articles:

Move from Android to iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

and/or:--> Move content manually from your Android device to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch , I suggest that you contact Apple Support directly, using this link:--> Get Support
