With the multi-page document open in Pages, press command-P to open the Print dialogue.

Look for a Pages per sheet menu bar in the dialogue window:

use the menu controls to set the number to 4. I've also st the Borders menu to 'Double hairline' to place the lines outlining each page on the sheet. Note the change in the Preview image and in the page count below that image:

Last step: Click the PDF button at the lower left of the dialogue, and choose what to do with the PDF file.

Some of the settings shown may depend on your printer, and the software supplied with it, or on the versions your OS X/mac OS and of Pages being used. These are set on a Pages 5.6.2 on a Mac running OS X 10.11 (El Capitan).

Barry

Which pdf software are you using? Often pdf controls their output, and have options to print multiple pages to a single. Sometimes the option is hidden.

ex in Apple’s print preview, just before printing, are print setting choices and where a pdf has these settings and to access it. Sometimes it’s “more detail” that expands the setting choices and you can see it.

it’s a little different depending on your software. But conceptually all similar using a bit different naming.
