Safari sometimes undo my actions

Sometimes when I open a link in new tab, it closes immediately after doing so. On the other hand, sometimes it opens the tab that I closed immediately. I am unable to locate the problem. Is anyone experiencing the same issue?

Hi zhoukerrr,

"Is anyone experiencing the same issue?" - No. Everything works fine for me.

I am not following you on the second sentence. "...sometimes it opens the tab that I closed immediately."

Do you mean that, as a separate action from your first example, you click on the "X" to close a tab, that tab does close, yet immediately snaps back open? If so, with the same website still showing, as when you closed it?

What device are you using to interact? Mouse? Trackpad?

In your Safari > Preferences > Tabs are your settings any different than these?

Are you using any key combos, such as the ⌘-click, mentioned in Navigation?

I am grasping for straws, as I don't have any sound ideas on your problem. However, in both of your examples, your describe and issue that seems to be made up of two events happening in succession.

1) Tab opens - Then immediately closes

2) Tab closes - Then immediately reopens

It is as if there is a double-click, or something triggering two successive actions. Not sure I helped any, but maybe some thoughts to help you work out what is happening.

Good luck!
