Ipad fell into tub, drying methods used but still dead. Is all data irretrievable? SIM card won’t eject, btw.

IPad Pro water damaged, SIM card won’t eject, methods of drying it out not working, SO, I should consider all data irretrievable?

iPad Pro, iPadOS 15

iPad has no protection from moisture. If exposed to water, the iPad is very likely beyond repair. If the iPad will not boot - and you are unable to successfully enter your passcode, any locally stored data is unrecoverable.

iPad uses an encrypted file-system; the passcode unlocks the Secure Enclave (this being the iPad security chip) that contains the only copy of the encryption key - this key being required to access any locally stored data.

As described, unless you have a pre-existing iCloud or iTunes backup of your iPad, you have lost your data.
