Iphone dropped in water, I dried sim card. Phone still works. Man in phone store said it won't work within 3 days due to rust. Is this true? Will I lose data?

If it still works, back it up NOW.
Rust isn't the problem. The problem is corrosion. And there's no way of telling when damage will become apparent. You might be really lucky and not have a problem. You might not have a problem for days or weeks or months. You may have a problem an hour from now.

Any delicate electronic device subjected to water damage could fail at anytime. Be certain to backup your data now, and often.
The phone is very likely ruined. It may take a few days for the damage to become apparent. Water and electronics do not mix well!
