USB-C Headphone jack causes Siri to activate

Brand new iPad pro with brand new usbc headphone jack, Sennheiser headphones are fine. Siri keeps activating every time I lift my iPad. I turned off Siri activating with top button. Only fix is to shut off Siri all together. Not good. Sometimes the audio quality is also an issue, but reconnecting port fixes that. I’ve shut down iPad a couple of times, but Siri still interrupts and pauses apps, e.g., Pandora, You Tube

Hi there kcjp11m,

Thanks for joining us in Apple Support Communities! We understand Siri is activating unexpectedly when lifting your iPad Pro with the USB-C to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter connected. We're glad you're here, and we'd like to learn more to see how we can help.

To begin, which iPadOS version is listed in Settings > General > About? The most current version available is iPadOS 15.2. If needed, learn more about updating here:

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Next, what type of headphones are you using with your iPad Pro? Are you using the Apple branded USB-C to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter? Learn more here:

Use Apple headphones with your iPhone, iPad, and iPod

Send over these details, and we'll take a closer look from there.

Take care.

I thought your request was a lot to ask since Apple no longer has headphones with a 3.5 nor do I know if any come with a usb-c to try. The last set of apple headphones I got has a lightning connector, so I cannot try those since I don’t have an adapter for that.

Amazingly, I did dig up an old pair of apple EarPods with the 3.5 jack to try. I could not replicate the problem, but volume and the play/pause buttons did not work.

I can also tell you my Sennheisers had no issue on my Apple ipad air 2 even with the ios 15.2 update.

Never had an issue using them on my iphone 11 with the 3.5 to lightning apple jack either.
