Got a new number for iPhone-Xr and will give to son. How do I erase my data and reset the Xr without erasing the new carrier info and assigned number?

Can I erase my data on IPhone-Xr without erasing new phone number and carrier info? Will removing SIM card accomplish this?

Changing phone number I am looking to change my cell number on my iPhone SE first edition. This will require a new SIM card from the same carrier. I do not want to lose anything (contacts, email, text messages etc.) from my phone, is there a simple way without using iTunes/iCloud?

You can use the following procedure. The carrier info/SIM card won't be erased. See:What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
